Confession and another HALP!

I have a confession to make. It's BIG. You will be shocked. And will cringe, most likely.

I LOATHE exercise.

Ok, so maybe it's not that bad of a confession. It would be worse if I confessed to not showering for 12 days straight. Which is not true, by the way. It's only been 7 days.

Anyhoo, I need some HALP! Or help, whichever you prefer.

I was thinking earlier today that I want to get some sort of exercise DVD to do at home. Then I thought about previous workout videos I've owned and they were in excess of 30 minutes. My time, and most importantly, my patience is limited so I do the video 2 or 3 times and then it collects dust until I donate it. So I came up with a brilliant idea! Better than doing nothing I was hoping that I could find 10-15 minute DVD's to workout too. I know it's not much and I know the recommended amount of time is more than that. But surely the health industry would agree that a few minutes of exercise is better than sitting on the couch watching Iron Chef America.

Here's where you come in. I need suggestions for short exercise DVD's. I'm not well versed on all the different sorts of exercises, really. I do know I'd like a yoga video (I love yoga and never do it anymore), maybe a Pilates video. Perhaps something to tone my backside. Maybe some upper body something-or-other. Maybe something I haven't even thought of.

Anyone have an suggestions? Do you own something that would fit the bill? Any help would be appreciated by my skinny jeans that are collecting dust in the closet.

:::::::::

I'm only kidding about the not showering for 7 days. I can barely skip a day without getting hives and breaking out. Or least, that's what it feels like.

Hey....ok, I used to be a video freak, tae bo the whole shabang. But then I started doing the gym/yoga thing and loved it....one video in particular that I love is Gurmukh, Kundalini yoga. She's amazing. I'm pretty sure you can get her stuff at goldenbridgeyoga.com :)

Sorry, I'm no help because I'm not the type who can be motivated to work out alone with a video. I need the pressure of the gym and other people to kick me into gear!

I also loathe exercising, and I power through it by remembering how good I'll feel AFTER, when it's done and I can collapse and feel virtuous and smug. The exercise DVD I use right now is Crunch: Fat Burning Pilates with Ellen Barrett. It has about 25 minutes of cardio and then 15 minutes of Pilates, and it has chapters so you could skip straight to the Pilates if you wanted. Also, I got it off Netflix, which I would highly recommend if you have a subscription, because then you can try it without paying and send it back if you don't like it.

I'm not an exercise video fan, but have you thought about getting one of those ab balls?

They are great for legs, back and abs. I love the one I use at the gym and you can use it quickly whenever you want.

I think that the "....of Steel" series is great. Totally cheesy looking, but they work. You'd need to do cardio in addition, but they are great for toning.

Squeeee, the birthday cake sounds so cute, I can't wait to see it!

I love/hate exercise videos. I had Turbo Jam but gave it up because a) I felt like an ass, even with noone watching me and b) Seeing their flat stomachs made me want to punch the tv.

the biggest loser dvds have short segments...and the new firm series has an "express" 25 min workout!

This one works great!: Core Secrets by Gunnar Peterson. It has this balance ball, and a dvd, and it makes you sweat. :)
