Sign me up for Mother of the Year

This morning I traumatized my youngest child for life. Surely he will remember this day as the day his momma fucked him up for life. He will spend thousands of dollars on therapy and group healing sessions no doubt.

All because I'm a total idiot.

I locked my kid in the car today. While I waited for my Mom (have I mentioned she's my saving grace before? And she saves my ass all the time) to drive the 20 minutes to my house with the spare key, I ran circles around the car to entertain Jackson and keep him happy.

After about 10 minutes he realized that something was off. Mommy wasn't getting in the car to take him to the babysitter's house. She was acting like a raving lunatic. He got pissed and started screaming and kicking and probably sealing his therapy fate right then and there.

On the positive side, his kicking and flailing of his arms kept him warm so I didn't have to worry about him sitting in a car with no heat.

Yes, please send my award asap.

I bet he was just screaming to make sure you heard him through the windows.

awww.

He's too little for this to require any therapy. Do it again later but make sure you have the keys with you and keep hitting the panic button so that the alarm goes off any time he tries to open the door like my husband did to me. Then maybe it will require some.

He'll never remember. It's definitely good to get that stuff out of the way young.

There is a HUGE difference between accidentally locking your kid in the car and purposely leaving him in their while you go to the bar to partake of hookers and blow, or whatever.

I bet that was plenty scary for both of you. *hugs*

hhahahaha - I'm sorry I am laughing but this is too funny. I wouldn't worry about it, it will probably only take up half of a future therapy session. ;)

Aww hon, I guarantee you are not the first mom to do this. He'll never even know about it unless he finds your blog! :)

It's good that you were able to look on the bright side of his flailing :) I would imagine if I had a kid I will do shit like this all the time.

This is just a rite of childhood. Same thing with that little flap of skin between your gums and upper lip...90% of kids will tear it by the time they are 5.

Maybe if you locked him in the car because his screaming was annoying you...then you would be entitled to this award.

Oh, he won't remember! No worries! Poor mommy!

He won't even remember. I'm sure he was more worried that mom was having a mental breakdown and running around the car more than anything.

I think he was just screaming to entertain you!! I don't think he will ever remember what happened, so you can just erase it in your memory too! See...all better! Ha!
